Managing Health & Safety for Headteachers & School Leaders

Outline

This course is designed for Headteachers. The course will provide information on a range of subjects to Heads to effectively manage and effectively delegate their day to day health and safety responsibilities.

Description

The focus of this session will be on the requirements of the controlling minds. How a prominent monitoring role within the school can affect behavioural safety and how the latest guidance is putting much more emphasis on this. It will also touch on how to get the best out of your governing body.

Outcomes

A clear understanding of personal legal duties and responsibilities

A clear understanding of what to monitor and how to do this

Which tools can be used to assist headteachers to formulate and implement effective health and safety matters, including;
staff management
risk assessment
governing body
staff training
control of visitors and safeguarding

An understanding of current relevant legislation and code of practice which are relevant to the educational sector.

Networking opportunities with other head teachers – exchange of information, contacts etc.
