Outline

Our Basic Awareness course ensures that all those working within an early years setting have appropriate safeguarding training that meets the key outcomes for Level 2 of the LSCB’s recommended training levels

Description

This course covers the Key Outcomes of the LSCB safeguarding levels up to level 2; including….- Gain an understanding of what is meant by Safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare- Become familiar with National legislation and local procedures and policies; including statutory duties, roles and responsibilities - Be able to identify signs and behaviours of children who may be suffering, or be at risk of, maltreatment- Know when and how to involve others when there are concerns, understand the role of the designated person- Recognise the importance of communicating and working with other professionals- Understand the necessity of sharing information and the importance of accurate recording- Reflect on the safeguarding roles of parents and carers and recognise the factors that may impact on parenting
