Each School should have a trained Educational Visits Coordinator to coordinate offsite visits for their school. This Nationally recognised course covers National Guidance, Legal Requirements, Health and Safety and Local arrangements including the use of the EVOLVE online visit management system, and which is essential for all new or prospective EVCs.
The Educational Visits Coordinator performs an essential role within their school by ensuring that all offsite visits are properly planned and coordinated, with due consideration to the educational needs of participants and their safety whilst away from the school site. The EVC will also perform the "administrator" role for their school’s account on the EVOLVE online visit management system. This is a nationally recognised course for colleagues who have been delegated to perform this role.
The course will include: an introduction to relevant legislation and guidance from Government and the Local Authority; Health and Safety including Risk/Benefit Management; and the procedures put in place within Southend to ensure that all visit arrangements are adequate for purpose, approved prior to the visit and monitored / audited. The course will include a session on the EVOLVE system and the EVC’s role in managing their school's EVOLVE account. There will be an opportunity to raise concerns and gain access to additional support, if needed.
Each school's EVC will have a working knowledge of Current Legislation, Government Policies and Local Authority arrangements for the Management of Offsite Visits. Similarly, they will know how to manage school visit arrangements using the EVOLVE system including the addition of new staff and removal of staff no longer at the school.
