Festive Travel Challenge

As a leading advocate of sustainable travel, we would like your help to promote ForwardMotion’s upcoming ‘Festive Travel Challenge’. To take part, students need only replace one car journey with one journey by bus or train in December.

The journey may be the usual journey to School or College, but it could also be trip to the shops to buy presents, when visiting relatives, or going to friends’ parties over the festive period. Everyone who takes part will be entered into a raffle and could win £250 to spend on a bike or cycling equipment.

Provided you’re happy to help, we ask that you work through the following steps:

1. Click this link and sign up to download posters and leaflets from our website
2. Send out an email later this week asking your students to take part in our Festive Travel Challenge and to fill in this short survey
3. Display the posters highlighting the Festive Travel Challenge and distribute the leaflets
4. Send out an email in early January asking people to fill in another short survey so that we can gauge how many people took part, and enter them into the prize draw

We’re also promoting the challenge in local media. And you and your students may see an advert promoting the Festive Travel Challenge on the back of buses in the South Essex region.

The Festive Travel Challenge is the latest initiative from ForwardMotion, a programme designed to encourage more people to travel by bus, train, foot or bike. In 2019, over 2000 students have participated in ForwardMotion activities.

Thank you in advance for your help and support. Please contact me if you have any questions.
