ParkLives Southend is an exciting programme of fun and free activities that encourage children, young people and families, of all abilities, to get outdoors and make the most of Southend’s local parks, meet new people and enjoy new experiences.
Led by the Council’s Sport and Leisure Team, experienced instructors from community sport and physical activity organisations will deliver more than 30 free activities across Shoebury and Chalkwell parks from the end of July, through the Summer and into late September.
These free, fun, and informal activities will include Street Basketball, Parkour (Freerunning), Dodgeball, Rounders, and new for this year, the programme features Bootcamp sessions and Scooter sessions!
What's more, ParkLives Southend sessions don’t cost local young people and families a thing – every activity is FREE!
The 12-week programme starts on Tuesday 17th July in Shoebury Park, with Dodgeball and Rounders from 4pm until 6pm. Families, children and young people from across the town are invited to come along with their friends, join in the fun and sign up for vibrant and varied sporting activities over the Summer, which are totally free and right on their doorstep.
Attached is the ParkLives Southend 2018 Timetable which gives dates, times and locations of all sessions.
Advance booking is advised to secure a place on any of the sessions, or you can take your chance and show up and play on the day.
ParkLives Southend is primarily aimed at families and young people aged 8+ (young people 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult) however, I am happy to discuss a small number of places for younger children, particularly for the Parkour and Street Basketball sessions.
