The Council has teamed up with Halfords to offer employees the government initiative cycle2work. Cycle2work offers the use of a Bicycle as part of employees work commute and enables employees to benefit from valuable tax and National Insurance savings.
Freedom, flexibility, affordability, increased health & fitness – these are just some of the benefits already being enjoyed by the growing Halfords cycle2work generation. So much more than just a mode of transport, cycling to work offers many rewards. A brand new lifestyle awaits you!
Developed in response to the Department for Transport’s scheme to promote healthier journeys to work and to reduce environmental pollution, Halfords has pioneered the cycle2work scheme. Offering both tax and National Insurance savings to participating employees, whilst spreading the cost.
Cleaner, greener and more cost effective than any other motorised form of transport, cycling is good for you and the environment. Cycling to work for the first time could be the most exciting journey you ever make, and we’ll be with you all the way.
Halfords cycle2work offers the widest bike range of any provider. Many bikes available through Halfords stores are the exact same brands that you will find in specialist cycle retailers throughout the UK, others are exclusive to Halfords.
Halfords range is greater than ever before: new releases ensure Halfords exceeds industry norms in terms of specifications and build qualities on a range of premium cycle brands in the sub £1000 categories, offering better value for money than can be found elsewhere on the high street. In addition, employees can use a small number of independent stores if they are unable to find their preferred bike at Halfords. For more information on the independent stores taking part in our scheme contact 0800 612 7110.
Applications will next be accepted from the 1st June 2018 and completed applications must be submitted by the 29th June. The scheme will next open again in September.
